We're looking for Munich's forgotten office buildings. And we're offering a reward of 3 x 1,000 euros for the best tips.
Do you know of a large office building where suspiciously little seems to be going on? You drive past it every day and wonder: “Is anyone actually still working there?” If so, your tip could be worth €1,000.
Why? Munich doesn't have enough housing for students.
With TAKE OVER, we want to transform vacant office buildings into new places for students to live. Not just room by room, but vibrant buildings with affordable housing and plenty of space for community: for studying, working, cooking, exercising, partying, and hanging out. Vacant offices become new homes. And for that, we need your help. Because somewhere in Munich, the next TAKE OVER might already be waiting.
The Hunt is On. What We're Looking For.
We’re looking for large office buildings in Munich that could be converted into new student housing.
-> MUNICH METROPOLITAN AREA.
-> LOCATION WITHIN THE MUNICH URBAN AREA
-> 8,000 m² OR MORE.

01 - Find it. Keep your eyes open.
On your way to college. On your bike. On the subway. While jogging. Or just on Google Maps. Do you see a big office building and wonder if anyone even works there anymore? Then take a closer look. Not sure if it’s really empty? No problem. You can find out.
02 - Check the Map. Was anyone faster?
Enter the exact address (only within the Munich city limits!). The system will immediately tell you whether the building has already been claimed by someone else. You can also see this on Google Maps: 📍 CLAIMED = This building is already part of another tip. No pin on your building? GO FOR IT. First come, first served. Each building can only be claimed by one person.

LOOKS GOOD. This building has not yet been claimed.
DAMN. SOMEONE WAS FASTER. This building has already been claimed.
NOT IN MUNICH. We are currently looking exclusively for vacant properties within Munich.

As soon as the address is entered, the system checks: Has this building already been claimed? IF IT'S STILL AVAILABLE: LOOKS GOOD. This building hasn't been claimed yet. IF IT'S ALREADY TAKEN: DAMN. SOMEONE WAS FASTER. This building has already been claimed. But don't worry: Munich is a big city. And somewhere out there, the next empty office is waiting.
03 - Do Some Detective Work. Be Curious.
Find out what you can learn online about the building: Who owns it? How big is it? Is it vacant, or will it be vacant soon? Use publicly available information—and stay on public property. Do not enter any properties or buildings without permission, and do not bother anyone.
